Apphia’s POV
“Come on,”
Joe walks in, looking shy. I smile at him, and his blue eyes light up like Christmas lights.
“Luna, everyone is ready for the meeting,” he informs me.
“Oh shoot, I’ll be there, thank you, Joe,”
I glance at Anaiah. She’s sorting through some files on the couch.
“Aunty Anaiah, are you joining us for the meeting?” I ask.
“No, dear, I’ll finish these and then leave,” she looks at me warmly. I nod and follow Joe. As I walk to the conference room, my mind takes me to the devastating wildfires that started two days ago in the eastern district of the city. Firefighters did everything they could to stop it, but it was too much, and many people lost their homes- schools and business buildings, including two clinics, burned to ash. We will discuss how to rebuild and find a way to help the people affected by the fires. A team from the Luna office was sent with necessities, but it wouldn’t last so long. We needed a budget t
