“This will never end, will it?”

The words tore from my throat before I could stop them, raw and sharp, edged with every emotion I had been trying—and failing—to contain. My hands trembled at my sides as I glared at Edward, my mate, my Alpha, the man who seemed to be the very source of both my strength and my undoing.

Edward’s jaw tightened. He didn’t answer me. Instead, he stepped toward the woman standing a few paces behind him—Candace—who immediately shrank back, fear flashing openly across her face. She knew.
