Chapter 31. Gery's Instincts

Eve was distraught. She should have turned off her cell phone ringtone. However, she tried to calm down and was about to take the phone out of her bag under Dave's sharp gaze.

"Give it to me!" Suddenly, the cell phone in Eve's hand was grabbed by Dave. The man's eyes widened when he saw Gery's name there.

"You even called your boss, didn't you?" asked Dave as his eyes darted towards Eve.

Eve was a little frightened because Dave's gaze seemed filled with lust to hurt. Oh my!

"I just pressed the last call button and I forgot that it was his number! Give it back!" Eve pleaded after gathering the guts that had shrunk earlier.

"No way! Let him think you're playing with him!" grumbled Dave and pocketed the phone into his pants pocket, ignoring Eve's outstretched hand, ready to receive the phone.

"Dave!"

"What? You don't want him to get suspicious, do you? Or do you want to answer this phone and tell him the truth that you're with me?
