Chapter 37. Brought Together
"Didn't I invite you to come, Eve? Are you so busy that you don't want to fulfil my invitation?" asked Mrs. Daphne on the phone.
"Oh, I'm sorry, Ma'am. But I'm fine. I told you I'm fine, thanks to Mr. Gery's help. That's why I don't think Madam needs to see me know my condition," Eve replied quickly, afraid that the company owner would take offence.
"Yes, but still, you should have informed me by coming in person. I'm worried about you," Mrs. Daphne protested again.
"Never mind, you should come to the house tonight. I'll also make sure Gery is home this time. We'll have dinner together. If anyone fails to show up, then I will assume that none of you respect me anymore!" Mrs. Daphne continued her words without intending to listen to Eve's response first. The phone immediately disconnected.
