I checked my wristwatch while waiting for the valet to bring my car and wondered if Manuela was still at the mall with Cecília. I had informed Manuela about my commitment that night, and the fact that I had left my cell phone in the car didn’t worry me. There was nothing so urgent that it couldn’t wait a few hours for a response.
The business dinner with my father and some Spanish entrepreneurs took longer than I had anticipated, but my mind was at ease. The night was pleasant, and the conversation with the entrepreneurs was more fruitful than expected, which was great for business, especially for strengthening our branch in Barcelona.
