Chapter 71. Lunching Together

The morning had come to an end as Cecilia and I arrived at the company. The first thing I noticed was Marta looking agitated at her desk. Her eyes reflected worry, and she seemed anxious as if she were expecting something. I greeted her with a nod, but before we could exchange a few words, she hurriedly said:

"I was waiting for you. I need to talk to you, Liam, it's urgent."

I frowned, surprised by the urgency in her voice.

"What happened, Marta?" I asked, concerned about the distressed expression on her face.

"My sister had a sudden health issue. She was just hospitalized, and I need to go there. I don't know how long I'll be absent."

Without hesitation, I said to her:

"Go immediately, Marta. Don't worry about work. Family comes first. Let me know if you need anything."

Cecilia, beside me, nodded in agreement, showing understanding of the situation. Marta thanked us and hurried off, leaving us in the waiting area of my office.
