Engagement
It was a beautiful evening with dark clouds engulfing the sky and the hues of the setting sun were spread on the horizon. A soft breeze was blowing. Everyone had gathered in the garden to enjoy the weather, with evening tea and samosa accompanied with onion fritters. Rai Bahadur was satisfied with their shopping and had asked Viren to give the gifts to Priya’s family personally. He then called Priya near him, at that moment Deepti handed a red velvet box to him which he handed to Priya and asked her to open it. Priya was dumbfounded on opening the box. It had a dazzling bracelet embedded with different gems. A giant-size Ruby was in the middle.
“Did you like Priya?”
“Like is a small word dad, I love it.”
“This is your mother-in-law’s bracelet. I gifted it to her when Viren was born. She made me promise her that I would give it to Viren’s wife, the first time she comes to this house as her blessing
