Chapter 4

Sophie's POV

I don't know what reaction I expected from Cara, but this wasn't it.

She stared at me, silent for too long, before she finally spoke up.

"Congratulations! I'm so happy for you."

To me, her voice seemed way too high; something was definitely wrong. I decided to overlook it; of course she would be shocked; she didn't expect this news one bit, and also, I knew about the loss of her child; maybe it wasn't a good idea to tell her, but she was the only one I could talk to.

"Why are you congratulating me? Aren't you going to ask me who's child it is?"

She stared at me, puzzled. "It doesn't belong to... Laurent?"

"Of course not; we haven't reached that stage yet."

"You don't know the father?" She asked, That would be something 'usual' in my case. I slept around with so many men that it could be possible that I didn't know the father, but the thing was that I did know.

"I do know the father. It's Ken"
