Chapter 22

Sophie's POV

"Sophie." I had him call my name. My eyes felt heavy, but I finally pulled them open. Ken watched me as I slept.

"I didn't want to wake you up, but I figured you wouldn't want to stay here for too long." 

I stood slowly, still feeling dizzy. I tried taking a step, and I fell. I never felt the impact of the fall because he caught up to me; just a moment ago he was sitting over there.

"You should sit for a while. I don't know if it is the right time, but I want to ask you some questions."

I knew this time was coming. I nodded slowly towards him, unable to look him in the eyes. I felt ashamed of my own actions.

"Where did you go to? I saw you run through the woods, but it was like you disappeared," he said.

I inhaled. I wasn't supposed to tell him this; I had promised Cara not to, but now he was no human either, so fuck that, he needed to know. That was the least I could do for him.
