Sophie's POV
"It's alright" Laurent assured me, "I just need to heal," he said, and I could only nod.
"Do you need anything to eat or maybe to drink?"
"No, I am fine, but there is one thing I do need: stay with me; I want to talk to you."
"I am here."
"You know, you are the best thing that ever happened to me. I've always waited for the day I would find my mate. All my life, I didn't realize it, but there was always this emptiness, this loneliness I felt," he said. His eyes were glassy, and there was so much emotion in them, I realized I hadn't bothered to even know more about him.
