Cara's POV

I was glad Shade didn't have to walk me back. I only hoped I hadn't given out too much information and they wouldn't realize that I had lied at some point. Another issue was that I needed to contact Teo.

Something gave me a pause. I noticed the figure walking ahead of me; he had a black cloak just like a few other vampires, but I thought he looked familar. I was only given a back view, but I thought I had seen him somewhere, I couldn't pinpoint where. I waited for him to take a turn so I could see his face, but he only went further, and I was already right in front of my room. I chose to ignore him.

I slumped on the bed, feeling suddenly exhausted, and then I remembered the phone Teo had given me. I picked up the little object dialing in his number, but the door to my room was pushed open. I was quick enough to cut the call and toss the phone on the dresser, but it wasn't as hidden as I wanted it to be. It was Vlad and no wonder I heard
