Eric could feel the pepperish taste of the food hang in his throat as he was quick to gulp down a full cup of water before speaking.

“You know what?” he asked, groaning and breathing hard from how his lips burned.

“What is it?” Ray, who sat opposite him dressed in a simple blue top and trousers asked while chewing the meat in his mouth.

“I think Rose is a bit mysterious because she seems to be hiding a lot of secrets,” Eric said, he knew that his friend might feel like he was meddling but something was definitely off with the girl his best friend was dating.

“I know Eric but I want you to know that she had a difficult life which we never had. She was separated from her family for a long time, she has always been on her own. Life hasn't been easy for her!” Ray defended even if he knew that what his friend had voiced out was the truth.

“I fell in love with her because she is one of a kind, she is different from the other girls I have seen or been with,” Ray said
