Chapter 19. Deal
Jeanne looked at me as if she had just seen a ghost. Of course she did not expect me to answer her like that or that I answer her at all. Never in my life had I ever had to question my sister's decisions, they were absolute and I did my best not to challenge her – she is my sister, my legal guardian, the one who sacrificed everything for me and who continues to do so.
I don't want to be ungrateful, even if what she does often hurts me, I have to give her credit for something she does for my good. She only has in mind that to ensure my happiness even if it is to the detriment of hers. I've understood that over the years, but if there's one thing I've also understood, it's the fact that she tries too hard for me and gets nothing in return. Jeanne has no life and I don't even think she has personal plans for her own future.
Her whole life revolves only around me and in the end it creates a feeling of guilt in me.
