Chapter 2

Weeks turned into months, and I found myself falling deeper in love with the Lycan King. He had kept his promise to treat me with respect and had become the partner I had always hoped for. He had even gone as far as to step down from his throne, claiming he didn’t need it to be happy.

But as time went on, I noticed a change in him. He would go out for long periods of time and come back late at night, smelling of alcohol and blood. He started to become more distant, and our conversations became less and less frequent. I tried to talk to him about it, but he would always brush it off, telling me that he was just dealing with some issues and would be fine soon.

One day, while out on a walk, I stumbled upon a hidden cave. As I peered inside, I saw the Lycan King in the midst of a dark ritual. The cave was filled with other Lycans, all kneeling before him as he chanted in a language I couldn’t understand. In front of him lay a woman, her body mangled and lifeless.

I watched in horror as he lifted his head, his eyes meeting mine. For a moment, I thought he would come after me, but instead, he just stood there, a wicked smile spreading across his face.

“You weren’t meant to see this,” he said, his voice cold and distant. “But since you have, I have no choice but to make you a part of it.”

I tried to run, but before I could make it out of the cave, he grabbed me by the arm, pulling me close to him. His eyes had turned a deep shade of red, and his once gentle hands had become rough and calloused.

“You see, my dear,” he said, his breath hot on my face. “I am not the Lycan you fell in love with. I am the one true king, and I will do whatever it takes to maintain my power.”

I felt a shiver run down my spine as I realized the monster I had been living with. The man I had trusted and loved had become something far more sinister, something beyond my wildest nightmares.

He let go of my arm, and I stumbled back, my eyes never leaving him. He turned his attention back to the ritual as if I wasn’t even there. I took that moment to run, to get as far away from him and his dark world as possible.

But even as I ran, I knew that he wouldn’t let me go so easily. He would hunt me down, and I would never be safe again. I had fallen in love with a monster, and there was no way to escape his grasp.

As I ran, I couldn’t help but wonder how I had been so blind. How had I not seen the warning signs? How had I not seen the wickedness that lay beneath the surface? But it was too late for those questions now. All I could do was run and hope that I could find a way to escape the Lycan King’s grasp once and for all.

I ran for what felt like hours, my heart pounding in my chest as I searched for a way out. The forest was dense and dark, and I stumbled over roots and rocks as I made my way deeper into the woods.

The Lycan King was a powerful being, and I knew that he would stop at nothing to find me. I had to keep moving, to stay one step ahead of him.

As I ran, I remembered the stories my grandmother used to tell me about the ancient magic that was said to protect the forest. It was said that if someone were to find the right path, they would be granted safe passage out of the woods.

I searched for any signs of the magic, any clues that would lead me to safety. And then, in the distance, I saw a glimmer of light.

I ran toward it, my heart beating faster with every step. As I got closer, I realized that it was a small cottage nestled deep within the forest.

I ran toward the door, my hands shaking as I knocked. A kind old woman answered, her face lined with age and wisdom.

“Please,” I said, my voice shaking with fear. “I need your help. The Lycan King is after me. He’s trying to kill me.”

The woman nodded, her eyes filled with compassion. She let me in and gave me a warm blanket to wrap around myself. She listened to my story, nodding in understanding as I explained the horrors I had seen.

“I can help you,” she said. “But you must be willing to trust me. The magic of the forest is not to be taken lightly.”

I nodded, desperate for any help I could get. The woman led me to a small room at the back of the cottage, where she had set up a circle of candles and herbs.

She explained that the ritual would only work if I truly believed in its power. I closed my eyes and focused on the magic, feeling the warmth of the candles and the scent of the herbs filling my senses.

And then, in a flash of light, I was transported to a new place. The air was cool and fresh, and the sky was a deep shade of blue.

I had made it out of the forest, and I was safe.

But even as I breathed a sigh of relief, I knew that the Lycan King would never stop searching for me. I would have to stay hidden, to keep moving, to never let my guard down.

And so, I began my new life on the run, always watching my back, always searching for a way to escape the Lycan King’s grasp once and for all, never staying in one place for too long. I traveled to different countries, never stopping for more than a few weeks at a time. I had become a ghost, a shadow of my former self. The fear of being found by the Lycan King never left me, and I could never shake the feeling that he was always one step behind me.

But just when I thought I was safe, I received a message. The sender was unknown, but the message was clear: the Lycan King had found me. My heart raced as I tried to come up with a plan, but I knew deep down that there was no escaping him. He was too powerful, too determined.

As I looked around at my current location, I knew that I had to make a decision. I could either continue to run and hide or I could face him head-on. But was I ready to face the monster I had once loved? Would I be able to defeat him and free myself from his grasp once and for all? The answer remained uncertain as I prepared myself for the inevitable confrontation.

Despite the fear I had within me, I knew I had to suppress it and face my reality.
