I wrapped my arms around his neck and buried my head on his chest. He patted my back.

“Are you okay, Gem?” Vexon asked me softly, and I nodded. “Good,” he muttered and broke the hug. Before I could say anything, he took big steps towards Sally.

“What the fuck did you just do? How dare you, Ms. Mitchell!” he shouted at Sally.

I flinched at his sudden outburst. I placed a hand on my chest in fear.

Everyone lowered their gaze. Sally was the only one looking at Vexon. “Sir, that woman-” she tried to answer but he interrupted her.

“That woman is my wife! How dare you push her like that? Huh?” he yelled once again and took another step towards her. Sally stumbled backward.
