Chapter 64. Fight
I carried the plastic bag containing three sets of clothes and shorts that I had just bought for switching outfits. I got them for a reasonable price since they were only a hundred pesos each. They were also nicely sewn.
As I was almost hit by a passing car while crossing the street, I clutched the plastic bag tightly. The car was going so fast, and I hadn't noticed it while I was on my way to Mrs. Using's eatery.
I took a deep breath and let out a sigh of relief. My knees were shaking, and even my hands were trembling. It was a close call.
I glanced at the one who had just saved me. Carl was running towards me.
"You almost got hit," he said. He must have seen what happened earlier.
"I didn't see it," I replied.
He shook his head. "The car was speeding. Come on," he invited me, and we crossed the street together. "You seem to attract accidents," he commented. "We're unlucky."
