I had to hold myself together to keep my expression friendly because I was horrified. I never wanted to agree to that, but politeness required it.

Chances were he knew exactly why. Maybe she generally saw me as unsuitable at Tyrone's side, or perhaps she wanted to unsettle and annoy me.
