She had curled her long, blonde hair. Each of them hung down in unison with the others. Her skin was almost glowing and the makeup brought out her icy blue eyes. Sometimes it was scary how similar we looked to each other.

Her white sheath dress didn't have a single wrinkle and of course, the high heels weren't missing either. She made a striking appearance with her looks alone.

The serious look was directed at me and it worried me, even though that was usually her standard facial expression. Still, every time it felt like I had done something wrong.

"Luana, what gives us the honor?" Her cool voice almost cruelly ended the silence in the house.

To start things off better, I said, "Hello, Mom. We haven't seen each other in too long." I'd been avoiding her pretty well lately, I deserved an award for that.
