Zea's POV
He snorted and crossed his arms over his chest. This way he was not only taller but also far more frightening than me.
“I don’t care. Nobody, really nobody beats an Alpha, darlin', especially not me," he said, his voice distorted with anger.
“Phoenix, please. I don't want to side with either of you. Please, leave him alone. I've known Cole forever, I'm making sure he gets out of the country. He's only here because of me because I don't have anyone here. You said all the Gorrés were bad company. Sean, Shanice, Rider, Tyler, Anny, TJ - who else do I have?" I asked him in a trembling voice and he desperately ran his hand through his hair, turned his back on me, and ran a few steps away from me.
Then he turned back to me.
"You have me," he then hissed and I sighed softly. I should have expected him to respond. Since I didn't want to hurt him, I stayed quiet at first.
