Epilogue
While Juan and Amber complained and whimpered in the front seat of the car, Hade and I entertained ourselves in the backseat by humming along to the tune of the song that was playing on the radio. Hade gave me a teasingly childlike grin and gently grasped my hand in his, causing me to sway in time to the music along with him. Yes, we were intentionally exaggerating and having fun in order to give it to the dominants, who were sneaking peeks in the front mirror at us while we were driving.
I was able to catch Juan's attention as he gazed back at us, making a valiant effort to hide his smile. Hade gave Juan a look that had an implied roll of the eyes, and I heard Amber snickering just below the surface.
