Chapter 10

Jungso approached his daughter, touching her face and wiping away her tears that kept falling. He saw her injured neck and bleeding arm. He stood up, supporting himself on the counter, and pulled her up, even against her will.

Lucy looked at Ryeon, still huddled and quiet, and crouched down to hold him and lift him up. The boy seemed to have stopped breathing, overwhelmed by fear. He struggled to stand, and Lucy's trembling fingers supported him, bringing his consciousness back. His eyes widened, and he noticed her presence.

Ryeon sobbed, embracing her tightly, inadvertently hurting her with his grip.

Looking to the side, he saw his father's lifeless body, but Lucy made him turn away from the sight. He glanced at her arm, blood dripping onto the clean kitchen floor, and he was frightened again.

"Please, come with us," more police officers arrived and escorted them outside.

Jungso took care of them like a shield, creating a path with
