Chapter 43
After running away from home and spending the entire night with my friends, Lucy felt that she could be more free every day, as long as she persisted in her ideals. Despite all the obstacles, she believed she could overcome them.
When she returned home and risked herself once again on the improvised rope of bedsheets, she thanked the universe for not causing any accidents and for arriving home before her parents woke up. She simply took off all the clothes she was wearing and threw herself onto the bed. She was exhausted and ended up falling asleep just a few minutes later.
It was her father who woke her up, knocking incessantly on her door to let her know that lunch was ready. He even seemed concerned, asking if the girl felt well or if she was sick, as she never woke up after one in the afternoon.
