Chapter 57
Lucy held a champagne flute between her fingers, sipping cautiously. She didn't want to get drunk as they were arriving in another country, and especially because it was the middle of the night.
It was a little past four in the morning, and Ryeon was sleeping peacefully by her side. Lucy had thought carefully before accepting that single glass, but the fact that they were on a calm, comfortable, and somewhat long flight made her feel more at ease. She sighed as she tasted the peculiar liquid for the first time.
When the plane landed, Lucy felt sleep tugging at her even stronger, but she stayed awake when she needed to wake up Ryeon, even when they entered the new country and had to venture into asking for a taxi to the hotel in the local language. But as soon as they got into the car, Ryeon managed to stay awake, and she dozed off a little.
When they reached the hotel, they were practically dead tired.
