Chapter 69
Ryeon sighed like a goof when he sang the last note of HaeRi's favorite lullaby and saw the little boy surrender to sleep. HaeRi was lying in his favorite position, with his bum in the air while clutching his security blanket.
He looked at YooRi, who was still awake in her bed, but clearly drowsy. He sat down next to her, pulling the covers up to her chin, and smiled as he touched the tip of her nose, making her scrunch it up.
"Where's your prosthetic?" he asked softly, seeing the girl point to the end of the bed where the prosthetic was lying. "Keep it close to you; it's easier." Ryeon fetched it and left it by her bedside table.
He wished her goodnight and was about to turn off the lamp when he heard YooRi calling him. He focused all his attention on her question.
"Why did Mom get all quiet?"
"What do you mean?"
"At the park today, after the picnic, she got all quiet... Is she sad?"
