“That new rogue wolf we sent to the borders of the Pearly Canines—we’ve got some news about him, boss,” a man said, bowing in front of his leader as he entered the lush office. The leader of the rogues was currently camping on the border of no-man ’s-land, plotting a devious plan to attack other packs.
“He is dead, isn’t he?” the leader asked, swirling a knife in his hands before pushing it into the skin of a woman sitting on his lap.
Feeling the sharp pain of the blade entering her flesh, the woman hissed in agony, desperately trying to control her cries so as not to annoy the leader, which could cost her mate his life. The leader, however, smiled with satisfaction when he heard the painful hiss escape her lips. It gave him a momentary rush of happiness, and he pushed the knife even deeper.
