I waddled through the reception hall, my stomach almost too big to fit by this time. Putting a hand beneath my back, I stopped, gasping for air. These kids needed to come out already, I was sick and tired of carrying them by this point.
“Thanks for coming,” I weakly offered to one of the other vampires that nodded at me.
“You shouldn’t be up and walking around,” Cai clucked his tongue at me as he came behind me, wrapping his arms around my shoulders. “We can handle this.”
Bre flanked him and she smiled warmly at me, taking her hands in mine. “Sonja, you know better than to walk around like this. You need rest.”
“I’ve had so much rest my ass is becoming one with the mattress. Besides, do you know how hard it is to get off that thing now that I’m carrying all this?” I gestured at my protruding stomach. Gone were the days that I remembered what my toes even looked like. Hell, I didn’t even know what the rest of my lower body looked like anymo
