Chapter 142. We Couldn’t Have Underestimated Him
Nina POV
I rushed outside the castle, my hand cradling my protruding belly as Alexander followed closely behind me. The sound of chaos, screams, cries and destruction filled the air. And I could see people running wildly, trying to escape the rogues that were attacking us.
Few were running when some got killed at the spot. Before I could look away, a rogue lunged at me, his eyes filled with feral hunger. I reacted instinctively, my hand flashing to Alexander’s sword bag as I pulled out a silver knife. And with a swift, deadly motion, I plunged the blade into the rogue’s heart.
I heard him let out a blood-curdling scream as he stumbled backward, and collapsed to the ground with a lifeless thud.
Alexander’s eyes widened in surprise, and a low whistle escaped through his lips. “Wow, impressive!” He exclaimed, and instantly took the sword from me and sliced it through the air, taking down another rogue that had tried to rush toward us.
