Chapter 143. Face Me and Not Her

Ryder POV

The war was getting intense. Though from time to time, my mind kept drifting to Nina that I had left in our chamber.

Would the guards I sent be able to save her? This question had been at the back of my mind.

I was crazy, slicing them dead with my sharp claws. The eagerness not to return to my mate had me killing the rogues mercilessly.

But soon, I felt the skin in my back arm tore, I groaned and staggered back before turning in full force only to find Jasper. He was not fully transformed but his claws were out.

He snarled at me and I let out a loud growl, alerting Logan who instantly growled resentfully at him.

He tried to attack him when Elara rushed toward. She shot me a sharp glare and bared out his teeth.

“I couldn’t find her,” she whispered to Jasper but I heard her. And I already know who she is talking about…Nina, my eyes trailed down her body to see traces of blood on her claws.

Where is Nina?

She sensed
