Chapter 65. Can I Stay a Little Longer?

I nearly jumped out of my skin. I swirled around instantly, and my panicked hazel eyes fell on the figure before me.

“You?” I stumbled, shocked, sending a hand to my chest. I really didn’t know what to say, how to react, or even why I was frightened, but I swear, a second ago it felt like I was being followed. I felt it. I knew someone was following me; it felt so real.

My eyes stared back at the young girl in front of me, the same girl I had seen with that woman who gave me a scornful look.

What is she doing here? Was she the one following me all this while?

“I deeply apologize for startling you,” she spoke softly, her hand gripping the tip of the scarf she used to cover her head. She gave me a small, nervous smile, and I frowned, wondering why she was following me.
