Chapter 70. I Can’t Marry You
Ryder POV
My face hardened instantly, the anger I’d been suppressing coursed out immediately.
Seeing what’s happening, King Xandros let out a warning growl. And my enraged face snapped back at him.
He shot me the same look. “Enough of this madness! You are not a child anymore. It’s time you learned to put duty above personal feelings. And that coronation stands!” His forehead furrowed, deepening into lines of anger that was etched on his regal face.
I chuckled, a mirthless sound.
“And what if I say no?” I smirked, and the corner of my mother’s mouth drooped, pulling her face into a sour, unpleasant mask.
“You want me to be like you people. You might not have the balls, but I have the balls!” I barked out, my voice rising as my gaze sharply fell on my father, who sent me a cold look.
But I laughed and shook my head before my lips pulled down in a snarl. “... Growing up, I watched you two closely, and there were no atoms of love.”
