Chapter 23
Cassa quietly stepped out of the delivery room, even though she was not fully recovered. But this was her last chance to see her baby who was in the special baby room.
Eliza told her where she had placed Cassa’s baby, and with a heavy heart, she had to see her baby being held by someone else.
“Oh, my baby. Be calm, you will be alright with us. It’s such a pity that such a handsome baby has to be in a poor home like ours. We wish we could take care of you properly just like your parents would take care of our child,” Cassa sadly said.
Maria, a poor woman who had to give her baby to Cassa due to her terrible economic condition, felt so sorry for her child.
Cassa looked at Maria and her baby with swollen eyes. She couldn’t bear to think that her child would grow up in a simple house with such worrisome finances.
“While she is still here, if you change your mind, I will take him back for you,” Eliza suddenly said as she appeared next to Cassa.
