In less than an hour, I could hear the ringing of my phone. I picked up and answered. “Hi, were you pulling my legs?” Eric asked in his usual jovial manner.
“I would not do that, it’s a serious matter. Where are you?”
“I just got in the house and I haven’t seen a single living thing here,” he said amidst laughter.
I replied. “Your visitor is waiting at my house,” I didn’t get any response. “Your visitor is waiting at my house,” I repeated, trying to sound calm despite the absurdity of the situation.
Eric’s laughter stopped abruptly. “What? Who is it?”
I hesitated, “You’ll see when you get here. Just hurry up, okay?”
“Okay, okay. I’m on my way,” Eric replied, his tone now serious.
