I felt embarrassed for Jason even after we parted ways. Despite this, I decided to move forward with Eric.

I wanted to hold Jason accountable for his actions and thought his wife should be aware of his behavior. I anticipate she would be upset when she learned the truth.

“I’ll come with you, but you have to make Maria feel comfortable,” I said nodding at him.

“You know her name?” He chuckled.

“You mentioned it once during your phone call, and she mentioned it to me too. It wasn’t hard to put two and two together and figure out what was going on.”

“Wow,” he said, rubbing his cheeks. “Let’s go.”

“Hold on for a second, let me meet with Bennett first, and then I’ll join you.”

After a brief conversation with Bennett, I rushed off, despite her initial reservations. She eventually relented, allowing us to proceed with our plan.
