Unfinished Business

“This will be your room for now. I’m planning to buy new stuff so you can be comfortable here,” she explained carefully while leaning her back at the door.

I stared at Lara for a moment. I wanted to ask her directly about what happened between her and her husband Dawzon, but I wasn’t in the position to do that. And like me, she also didn’t ask any personal questions about my sudden arrival as her child’s babysitter.

“For the meantime, you’ll sleep in Carlson’s room first,” she added, pulling out the curtains to open, and the sunlight streamed to the window.

I carefully wandered around the bedroom. The bedding was warm and soft. The couch was perfectly in place at the right corner of the room, and the wall was painted with plain white colors, which gave me a peaceful ambiance to the room.
