“I’m going to strangle you when you get back!” Jessie shouted from the other end of the line.
I was starting to regret taking an air-conditioned bus now. I was shivering from the cold, and my feet and the sleeves of my t-shirt were damp. I should’ve brought a raincoat! If only I knew that I’d suddenly decide to go to Manila.
“I’m so sorry…” I pouted as if she could see me. If we were together, I was sure I could just pout and beg a little, and she wouldn’t be mad.
“Oh, come on… so, it’s just going to be the two of us looking for Lianna’s body later?” I could almost picture her rolling her eyes.
“I’m really sorry, Jessie… but… I can’t help thinking about it…”
“Just… just answer my call every 2 minutes like earlier, okay?! You’re not allowed to fall asleep,” she reminded me before ending the call.
Jessie’s words rang true. My phone rang every 2 minutes, and I had no choice but to answer it. It was a bit annoying, but it was for my own good.
