Chapter 13

We entered the cemetery premises to begin our search, we spotted a few of Victor’s colleagues who happened to be around. Victor introduced me to them, and we engaged in a friendly conversation while maintaining our confidentiality.

“Hey Victor, who’s this with you?” one of his colleagues inquired curiously.

Victor grinned and replied, “This is Johnson, an old friend of mine. He just came to visit and catch up.”

“Ah, I see. Well, welcome, Johnson. It’s always nice to have visitors,” the colleague said warmly.

I nodded appreciatively and shook hands with the others. “Thank you, it’s good to be here.”

We continued chatting, we skillfully avoided mentioning our true purpose for being there. We exchanged pleasantries and discussed various topics, all the while keeping our intention to locate Katie’s grave site under wraps.
