Sandy’s POV

As a Beta and the mate of the Alpha king, I always knew that our relationship would be a topic of discussion among other packs. But I never expected it to be used as a tool to undermine Sylvester’s authority and provoke conflict.

It started with a diplomatic meeting with a rival pack, the Night Hound Pack. Their Alpha, Victor, seemed to take every opportunity to mention our relationship in a negative light, insinuating that Sylvester was weak and easily manipulated by a Beta.

I could feel my blood boiling as Victor continued to make snide remarks, and I could see the anger in Sylvester’s eyes as well. But we both knew that we had to maintain composure and not give them the satisfaction of a reaction.
