“And why exactly are you putting on so much makeup?” Bria asked, cocking her brow behind me as we both stared at each other through the mirror.

“Uh… because I like to look good.” I shrugged, making sure I sounded as casual as possible as I dabbed more foundation on my cheeks, making sure to even the layers.

“Haven't you heard the saying ‘dress for the occasion’?”

“ I think this is too much makeup for going across the street to drop off a fruit basket.” Bria continued, veering her face off the mirror.

She proceeded to pace behind me, and I sneaked in more lipstick on my lips, then shoved it back into the drawer before she caught me again.
