Chapter 11. It Happened
Jennifer’s POV
The girls went to get their drinks and announced that they were going to dance. Samantha invited me to join, but I declined. So I stayed in the kitchen and checked my phone.
After some time, I became bored and went outside to the large backyard, where no one was present except for a few people who were having a good time. I sat on a lower-level chair and enjoyed the cool breeze of the wind. As I enjoy the moment, I close my eyes and take a deep breath.
I started to think about the movie I’ve watched lately.
The movie talks about inner peace. That made me think if I’m at peace. If I will ever be at peace without thinking about what happened in the past. I always had this feeling that my past still haunts me no matter what state of mind I am in. I could be the happiest version of myself or I’m at my lowest and I would still remind myself of the past.
