Chapter 19. Don’t Ignore Me

Jennifer’s POV

I still haven’t responded to Bob’s text message the next morning. I don’t want to confront him. I’m too afraid. I’m terrified of him and the other boys. They assassinated someone. They murdered an unarmed man.

I made the decision to get up earlier and go to school sooner. I just can’t deal with Bob.

I changed into my big t-shirt, shorts, and dark green jacket that I had just pulled from my wardrobe. I also wore my black boots and jewelry. My hair and cosmetics were done by me. And then I was done.

I went downstairs, picked up an apple, and ate it. I texted Reyna to let her know that I would be arriving at school a little sooner. ‘OK,’ she said. Kleo knows I’m leaving early, so I don’t have to wait for him. My car and bike are still in repair, so I had to ride the bus.
