Chapter 10. I Won’t Go

Jennifer’s POV

“Thank you, Jen, for helping me out today. I appreciate it,” Kwin said. 

“No problem. I’m always here for you. Just call me if you ever need me again,” I replied, bidding her farewell.

Kwin had called me earlier, asking if I could take over Froilan’s shift at work today. Froilan had informed her that he wasn’t feeling well and needed some rest, so she reached out to me for help.

I work at a small library near my school, which also has a cozy café. I usually prefer handling my own expenses and not relying on financial support from my father or my stepmother Cassandra. I believe in working for what I need.

Heading towards my car, I noticed my phone ringing. I took it out of my pocket to check the caller ID.

It was Samantha calling.

“Hello, sissy,” I greeted her with a smirk on my face.

“Hey, pretty girlfriend, what are you up to today?” she asked.

“I’m on my way home right now,” I replied.
