Chapter 22. Trust Me
Jennifer’s POV
I said, “Then I will go somewhere else but I won’t follow you,” and I headed for the stairs.
“Come on, Jen. Stop acting like a child.” From the living room he said, “Where are you going?”
I said, “I’m getting some stuff for myself that I need,” and I walked upstairs.
As soon as I entered my room, I grabbed my skate bag and proceeded to my wardrobe to pack some clothing and other essentials. The abrupt tone of Bob’s voice, “You can’t go anywhere else,” stunned me.
I whirled around and gave him a stern look. I snatched up my hoodie and my jeans and yelled, “You can’t tell me what to do.” I changed into my clothes in the restroom.
“Fucking headache,” he said.
When I returned to my room, Bob was still there, admiring my photos. He turned around and stared at me as he heard me move about the room.
He told me, “Jen, it’s not safe for you and your family right now. You have to trust me and come with me,” but I didn’t lis
