Lila’s POV

The moment the words left Ryder’s lips, my face paled instantly. My head started pounding violently as my body stiffened. The entire floor fell into stunned silence, followed by shocked whispers and side glances.

The words didn’t register at first. Senior Project Coordinator?

Did he just… like did he just demote me?

No. I think I’ve heard it wrong. How could he just remove me from my position? I did nothing wrong. I didn’t commit an offense either that warrant me getting demoted from my position.

I’ve been in this company for the past five fucking years always by Ryder’s side. I’ve been the one handling his business life, work life, personal life… his fucking entire life! I’ve always been there for him when he had no one.
