Dean’s POV
The house is chaos by eight in the morning.
Diane's already crying happy tears over her coffee at the kitchen island when I come downstairs, dabbing gently at her eyes with a paper towel because apparently the good tissues are "for later," and Dad's pacing the tiled kitchen in his undershirt trying to figure out where his cufflinks went, muttering under his breath something about how he had them yesterday, he definitely had them yesterday.
"Have you seen my cufflinks?"
"No."
"They were right here."
"They weren't right there, Dad, or you'd have them."
He glares at me and for a quick second and keeps searching anyway, pulling open drawers he's already checked three times.
