Kendra’s POV
At exactly six in the morning, Uncle Chen parked the car in front of the bus station. He hesitantly opened the lock of the car door, so I called his attention, “Uncle, you can’t stay here for long.”
“Lady Kendra, Uncle Jake said I must bring you to your very home. If he found o—”
He was arguing with me but I cut him off instantly “—Uncle Chen, I already told you, I want to go home alone. Please, open the door and help me with my luggage. It’s the least you could do.”
He looked at me in the rearview mirror and I could see how unsure he was. So I didn’t blink until he gave up and tended to my requests.
After a few minutes of staring at him, I finally convinced him. He unlocked the door and alighted my luggage near the entrance of the bus station.
