I heard my stomach growling from hunger so I asked Jones for a recommendation and he brought me straight to this French-inspired fine dining.
Jones was about to sit at the table next to me but I insisted that he would sit with me. His face said otherwise, but somehow, I managed to persuade him, “You don’t want to let a woman like me eat alone on this day, right?”
He scratched his head while saying, “Err…”
“And it’s your job to accompany me, so…” then I tapped the table where I was, “You can sit across from me.”
We were just quietly waiting for our order when I saw Johann’s head peeking at the innermost part of this restaurant.
I quickly hid and cursed, “Son of a—”
