Chapter 5. All Three of Them

Emma’s POV

A sudden feeling jolted me awake from a deep slumber. I laid still as my heart pounded in my chest, causing me to open my eyes immediately. After a while of controlling the dizziness, I tried to make sense of my surroundings. The room was dim with the light coming from the faint glow of the lamplight on the bed stand.

I attempted to push back the haze of sleep, a sharp, and searing pain shot through my body like a lightning bolt, causing me to gasp in agony, and reminding me of the incident that happened earlier. How I was being tied up and beaten to pulp. It felt as though a thousand needles were pricking my skin, the sensation intensifying with each passing moment. I could still clearly remember being chased in the forest after escaping and one of the men catching up to me and trying to capture me.

Panic clutched at me as I struggled to comprehend the source of this inexplicable torment. But I noticed how numb some parts of my body were. How long have I been asleep?

Forcing myself to focus, I tried to move, only to realize that my limbs were unresponsive, weighed down by an unseen force. Desperation etched across my features, I attempted once again but felt something on my hand, someone was holding my hand I was certain as the soft palm was on top of mine. Who could that be?

I looked around the room and as I paid proper attention this time around, I noticed how nicely the room was decorated. In fact, the room was magnificent with beautiful decorations that made the room a dream come true, and I could feel the soft mattress behind me.

Where was I? How come I was in a room? Whose room was this? This wasn’t mine, and I shouldn’t be here in the first place. If I remember clearly, I passed out in the forest after running for a while. I remembered as exhaustion tugged on my eyelids and I had no choice but to give into the darkness that drew me in.

Then how come I was here? Nothing seemed to make sense as I looked around the place. I needed to leave here. This unfamiliar place made me feel uncomfortable.

As I tried to sit up, I felt an excruciating pain coursing through my veins, my mind raced with questions and fears. What was happening to me? Was this caused by the beating I received earlier? The seconds dragged on like hours as I grappled with the harrowing reality of my situation.

The hand around mine tightened, causing me to finally snap my head to look at whose hand it was, and I was startled to find a handsome man with the most beautiful eyes. His hazel eyes looked down at me as he smiled at me. Who was this man?

There were probably too many questions, but I wanted to run away from this place and I quickly tried to pull my hand away from him. His tender eyes and calming smile froze, and he seemed taken aback.

I heard a sound to my right and turned only to find two handsome men looking at me as well. What was really going on? Why was I in the midst of three handsome men?

Parting my lips, I was about to scream when one of the men stepped forward. “Hey, don’t be scared. None of us here is going to hurt you. We were just looking out for you because of how you looked earlier when you were brought here,” he said and his voice was soothing. He looked younger than the rest and his dark brown hair was tousled, giving him a slightly roguish look.

Before I could voice my inquiries, a wave of dizziness washed over me, threatening to pull me back into the abyss of unconsciousness. However, I fought against the darkness, pushing off the dizziness that cloaked me. The voice resounded again, grabbing me attention once more.

“My name is Parker,” he introduced himself with a smile “And the person next to you is Bennett. And this over here,” he pointed at the person by his side. “His name is Hunter,” he introduced.

“W-Where am I?” I managed to croak, my voice barely audible above the throbbing in my ears. I could barely understand what he was saying but I got their names. Bennet, Hunter and Parker.

“You’re currently in the Silvercrest Pack. Earlier you were found by Bennett, and he brought you here. I hope you feel better now,” he explained as he pointed to the man beside me that was holding my hand.

“You’re also in his room, but don’t worry, we won’t do anything to you. We were just waiting for you to wake up,” he continued to reassure me as he noticed as my expression changed during his explanation.

So he was the one who found me in the forest? And he brought me here for treatment? I looked at him for a while and my gaze slowly softened, but I hoped that I wasn’t indebted to them because of it.

“Hunter treated your wounds, and he said that there’s a possibility of your body healing without leaving a scar,” he added.

“There’s something you must know as well,” the one beside him cut in. He had a grave look on his face as he spoke. He looked well put together and there was something about his eyes that made me swallow. The way he looked at me as he spoke. I couldn’t tell if I felt fear or curiosity as he spoke again.

“The truth is, we just discovered that you’re our mate,” he revealed with a calm tone that took me a while to comprehend what he just said but after a while, I slowly digested what he just said.

They were my mates? The three of them? How was that even possible? Suddenly, I felt dizzy again.
