"Why are you in a bad mood? Did something happen?"

Joel naturally sat down next to Primrose, resting his head on the sofa and watching her eat strawberries. Realizing that Primrose's state was somewhat absent-minded, disinterested, and unhappy, Joel suddenly asked

"Nothing; I must have watched a lot of movies today, so my eyes are a bit tired, and now I'm a bit sleepy."

Primrose made up an excuse and took a bite of strawberry, not wanting to question Joel about Auntie right now. Anyway, that kind of tender message doesn't reflect anything; moreover, Primrose doesn't know how Joel will respond, so questioning or accusing Joel is somewhat unreasonable.
