Chapter 30. Let Me Be Your Man

Together, we faced new challenges and obstacles, but we did it with renewed passion and purpose. There were moments when it felt like the world was against us- when everything seemed too overwhelming to bear, but we always had each other. We were a team, unstoppable in our love and determination.

One night, as we sat on our balcony watching the city lights below us, Riccardo turned to me and took my hand.

“I have one more surprise for you,” he said with a smile. “But I need your promise first.”

I looked at him curiously. “What promise?”

“That regardless of what happens, we’ll always be together. That we’ll never let anything come between us.”

I felt a lump form in my throat at his words-the strength of his conviction taking my breath away.

“Of course,” I said softly. “I promise.”

And with that, he got down on one knee and produced a small box from his pocket. My heart raced as he opened it to reveal a stunning diamond ring.
