Chapter 50. Our Lives Together

The night passes in a blur of planning and preparation. As we pour over maps and strategy, the tension in the air nearly crackles. But through it all, Riccardo is there, reassuring me with his touch and his words.

Finally, as dawn breaks over the horizon, we are ready to move. I take my place at Riccardo’s side, our hearts pounding in unison as we charge towards the enemy stronghold.

The battle is intense and brutal - bullets fly and blood spills on both sides. I can feel my own heartbeat racing, but somehow, knowing that Riccardo is by my side makes everything feel more manageable.

In the heat of the moment, our weapons discharge and our warriors fall around us, but time seems to slow down for just a moment as Riccardo pulls me close for a kiss. It’s brief just a brush of lips but it gives me the strength to keep going.
